So yesterday i had 4 wisdom teeth removed under GA and told one tooth was "difficult" now i know its early days but the left side of my tongue is numb (maybe a little tingly) from the tip right to the back. Is this something i should be worried about? My face is also really swollen so maybe that has an affect. Thanks for your help

I would imagine asking your dentist is the best way to find an answer rather than unqualified information from armchair experts. Pick up the phone and make a call.

I assume the oral surgeon went through the risks about numbness prior to the procedure ?

This is a known risk of the procedure and should be discussed during consent....
One day later is way too early to tell if this is permanent or not. While it could turn out to be a prolonged altered feeling as a result of nerve injury, it also could be because of the local swelling and recent trauma and settle soon......

Advise your OS of this and follow the advice. Usually this is monitor the area and severity of the altered feeling and any resolution, come for a check visit. don't bite or burn the area in the meantime...
    OS
