    Hi
I’m looking for some advice as to what to put over a flat roof.
The roof is about 20 years old and has 2-3 soft spots in it so it needs some attention. Rather than repairing it I’d rather put something else over it as its not overlooked and is at the side of the house so the landing window is the only place I can see it from.
It’s about 2m wide 25 ft long and has a double block rim of about 18” at the front and the left, the main house is on the right wall and there is guttering on the last edge.
I was hoping to put some class of vapour barrier , insulation and 2nd roof over what’s there but was looking for advice as to the best thing to do?
    Thanks pat

IMO it would be best to strip the old roof. Sounds as though there may be some water getting underneath resulting in the soft spots. Overlaying may also cause a level problem with the flashing along the house wall.
You should Get some recommended Roofers to have a look and price.
