I've been playing a lot of Hurling since we started back a month or 2 ago and I've been going well during drills but most of the time I go to play a match I get a roasting! Like I can't read the flight of the ball and even struggle to rise it or get a good strike where in drills I fly through them all and can read it perfectly most of the time when we're pucking across the field. This happens even in training matches. Anybody else have this problem or have any advice? Thanks :)

You probably panic when put under pressure and rush things a bit. Just calm down and enjoy the game for what it is, a game. GAA teams often like to hype things up to the max in the changing room before hand so just think about something that puts things in perspective and that will calm your nerves. Slow it down a bit and just focus on doing the simple things and you'll build from there. I guarantee that you're young (< 18) and just panic. Just enjoy the game or your nerves will plague you, nobody will give out to you as long as you try and keep things simple. If you try something fancy in the name of enjoyment then just accept the bollocking you will get as a result :p
