Hi guys, I'm looking to have pillars built like the ones in the photo. The things is I'm getting wildly different opinions on how much concrete should be out down for the foundations. Could you have a look at the attached photo and tell me what you think the suitable depth of foundations would be for this style of pillars…

I'm building something very similar and I had two 7ft 100mm box sections done up as instructed by the Architect.

2ft will be sank in concrete, 5ft will be above ground.
