    Ok.
This is a question that has been asked, doubtlessly, thousands of times.
I want to play my original NTSC Jap and US titles on my slim PStwo.
I have a TEST console but it's not mine, only on loan, and I have to give it back soon.
So, I have some decent titles in the collection from both Japan and the US.
I need to still play them when the TEST console goes back home!

Can folk here let me know if Swapmagic or a mod chip is the best way to go,

If using Swapmagic with the PStwo, I'd rather avoid the card trick to get the drive open, although I think that's not really an option with that version of the console, so that means either fiddling with the internal buttons to detect the lid opening, or get a third party lid for the PStwo drive itself.

If a modchip, well, I don't know, I hear they are hard enough to install and will they do what I want, that is to load my NTSC PS2 titles on my PAL system.

I have FreeMcBoot on a memory card, but it will only play my games if ripped, patched and then burned, which kinda defeats the point.

Get a Phat PS2, & do the FSD/HDD mod. Problem solved, I've dumped a few alt region discs with it & they seem to boot fine on my PAL console :)

But to answer your question, yes a mod chip will allow what your asking...though as you know a PS2 modchip installation isn't for the faint of heart ;)

I can't comment on swapmagic as I've never used it, but a replacement lid would sound like the preferred solution if using it.
