When I'm bored I browse Donedeal and Carzone. I'd imagine most people interested in getting a car will settle on a make/model and then use both sites (along with others) though, so I'd doubt there's any real advantage to using one site instead of another.

I never bother checking Adverts.ie though for cars for some reason.

    try adverts?
Its free so you're not gonna lose anything...

Although I'ld say carzone.ie is the most popular website for buying/selling cars but you have to pay for an add on it I think.
gumtree.ie is another website. Infact I bought my car of gumtree.ie and once sold a keyboard off it as well which I was having difficulty selling elsewhere...

Imo it really depends on what price range your talking. A car going for 20k won't fair to well on adverts.ie.

Nothing much fares well on Adverts. Full of clown offering 10% of the asking price and half a broken phone in exchange.

donedeal is naw much better anymore :L
had a clown offering me `less than half the asking because there was a similer one with no tax and test on for less money also it was completly standered

If the OP thinks DD is full of time wasters then it ain't going to be any better on adverts.ie. Nobody has any money over there, all they want to do is offer you half your asking price, swap you for junk they want rid of and then get insulted when you turn down their offer.

OP, unfortunately time wasting is part and parcel of trying to sell a car. Alot of people have more time than money these days so I'm not sure you will be impervious to it no matter where you advertise. I still think DD is the best for a private sale as it has the broadest audience.
