Transferring to TCD

    Hi everyone,
as I'm applying for advanced entry and would like to continue my studies at TCD, I was just wondering does anyone of you know if it's hard to get into as a transfer (and international) student? Is it generally competitive? To be more precise, I'm applying for language courses and have (overall) good grades at my current university.

And yes, do TCD students usually all have excellent grades/exam results or it's not a rule? Just curious. :)

Thanks for reading this, I'll appreciate any information or opinion.

Not sure if it's the same for international students, but I was asked for an average of 70% ('distinction') in my previous exams when I applied for advanced entry from another Irish college.

Thank you. Also, did you need letters of recommendation or you were accepted only on the basis of your exam results and cover letter? (Many other universities require at least one reference, so I find it a bit strange that in my app.form is written that I don't need it)

Anyone alse has some extra information about transferring? :)

Solely on my results and the short questionnaire within the application form. The whole system appears to have been moved online recently, though, so perhaps things have changed since I applied in 2010. Most of the info that you need should be available here.
