Saddle buzz on a Bass

Hey, so I'm getting some fairly bad buzzing on my A string. It's coming from the saddle, and lessens the closer I get. I've tried fiddling around with the action, and it fixes it temporarily, but it keeps going back.
    Any body got any fixes?
I'm pretty sure it's not intonation, possibly truss rods, but don't wanna go screwing around with that unless I have to.
Using flatwound strings if that's relevant

make sure that all the screws and nuts are nice and tight.

as to the truss rod, it could be the truss rod, or even one of the tuner nuts.

I had an acoustic that was DEFINITELY buzzing at the bridge end.

it was one of the tuner washers......

check the truss rod. even if you don't adjust the tension, if the nut is loose, then the washer coulkd be rattling
