So I have an easytrip for years, changed car at Christmas and the thing didnt beep a few times in January, it was correctly registered to my car and reg plate.

So I called and said it didnt beep, they said dont worry it will read your reg and register the toll anyway.

So fast forward to 2 weeks ago I get 4 penalty notices from eflow. I check and they are all for around that time. So I go to the site and request cancellation.

Not only do I get billed for the trips (thats fair enough I did them, no issue there)

I also get an 8€ charge for admin, easytrip say its a necessary charge and its on me to make sure it beeps!

    Account (M50 penalty admin fee) 4 €6.52 €1.48 €8.00

    nonesense surely!

Speak to a manager. Do you have the name of the person who said not to worry about it? It might be in the system.

no unfortunately dont know the name....it was in early January and i was still getting used to my new toy. Peoples names were not important then :P

Im going to call them again and speak to someone as you say.

'Dont worry about it' is call centre-speak for 'fcuk off, I couldn't be bothered to check it'. It's untraceable and even if you got the name of the person, they can deny it.

Instead of being fobbed off, you should have asked the call agent to check if your trip through the toll had been logged and charged to your eflow/easytrip a/c, clearly it wasn't. You also didn't do anything about it until the bill arrived so....., well let's just leave it at that.

Pretty certain that it's on their site that even if the tag doesn't go that they'll trace your reg to the tag. Have a look.

I drove through a few times minus the tag and it still deducted. Check the site and have the argument.

Well..I did...I called them and they told me it would go against my reg, just would take a little bit longer. And as an FYI the bill arrived recently the journeys were 3 months ago

I use the toll a LOT so I didnt notice that 4 particular charges didn't flow through in that week. Thats the service I pay them for...so I willc all and update on the response
