    Hi there,
I'm graduating in May and starting an unpaid student internship in June this year, lasting approximately 12 weeks. Am I entitled to any sort of social welfare payment during this internship or do I have to live off my savings for the 12 weeks?

Apart from it not being a JobsBridge internship (as you seem to mention in your title), it seems you must have been technically unemployed for three months before you can even qualify to be on a JB scheme.

Ah, thank you for the link. I suppose that means I'll be living off savings for awhile so! Thanks!

Only way would be dependant on your holiding off the internship till after you'd been claiming for the required three months to qualify for JobBridge and also talking the organization into making it a JobBridge Internship for 6 or 9 months. Otherwise the internship will preclude your claiming as it would mean you would not be either available or looking for full time work.

Indeed. On the other hand OP if you are doing the internship you should sign on for PRSI credited contributions though.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

It is an unpaid internship here in Ireland. I can't find any information that it is possible for me to sign on for PRSI credits while doing this as according to citizens information, you seem to be only able to do that if you have worked full-time before or are volunteering abroad.
