Patellar Tracking Disorder

Hey guys, I haven't run in a while after suffering (what I believed to be) an overuse injury training for a marathon.

While I was resting, I was spending quite a bit of time doing some internet doctoring, and I believe I have patellar tracking disorder. When my leg is at a right angle, my knee cap shifts to the outer edge of my joint, and comes into contact with my femur, and falls within the same area I felt the pains in when I was training a few weeks back.

I'm kind of worried because I love running and it's a massive release for me (Suffered with social anxiety disorder a few years ago, exercise was a major part of me getting over it.)

I don't have a lot of spare money at the moment as I'm unemployed and keeping whatever savings I have for college later in the year, so what would be a common prognosis for PTD or possible treatment?

My worst fear would be that it's just a structural issue which can't be helped, in which case I'd take up swimming or something similar on the impact scale.

    EDIT:
Forgot to mention that I am aware of the forum charters guidelines on medical advice, and would like to assure that any treatments or anecdotal experiences mentioned here I will take with a grain of salt and only use as a possible guideline of what to expect if I do go to a doctor/physio.

<Mod:Despite the disclaimer this is still in breach of charter. No one can diagnose without seeing you and even if they could root cause of injuries can vary. /Threadclosed>
