With many of dance music’s established luminaries including Kaskade and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike having already visited Irish shores under the Residence banner this year it is now time to look the future. On April 27th one the most outstanding young producers and DJs of our day Tom Staar will bring his unique brand of big room house to Andrews Lane Theatre.

    Tom Staar | BIO
Tom Staar is a name that has shot to prominence over the past two years. As a founding member of the dynamic Moda collective, he has played a huge part in creating one of the UK's most exciting new music brands, alongside Jaymo & Andy George. With an emphasis on taking the freshest electronic music to all corners of the planet, via every means possible the crew have dominated the airwaves this year with everything from deep house to mainroom bangers.

It’s undeniable that Staar has prestigious talent in the studio. Many of the artists released on Moda Music have benefited from Tom's studio skills - skills that have made many a club sound system weep tears of sonic satisfaction, whilst simultaneously emitting roars so earth shatteringly loud they can be measured on the Richter scale.

It is however his own productions that have propelled him onto the big stage. Moulding finely crafted bass around quirky, and often complex percussion, Tom's sound is easily recognizable. Even with multiple releases on various labels it is easy to recognize that Staar touch. Radio 1 support is a common occurrence with both Annie Mac and Pete Tong stating their admiration for his musical talents. In fact it was when Annie Mac dropped Two Tone Simms on her Radio 1 show in 2010 that things really went skywards for the Moda man. Thousands of daily Soundcloud plays, bookings at clubs and festivals all over Europe and America, and remixes for the likes of Crookers, We Have Band and Fenech Soler all followed - making Tom Staar one of the most eagerly watched new names on the block.

With a recent release schedule that includes remixes for the likes of Tommy Trash, Afrojack and SHM the man’s production skills are in high demand of late. Throw in tracks on Mau5trap (The moniker of Deadmau5) and Mixmash Records with Kingdom and you will start to get the idea of just how successful the past 12 months have been for the Englishman. His most recent effort, ‘Afterdark’ with Style of Eye was snapped up by Afrojack for his label Wall Recordings. Having played alongside and learned from Fatboy Slim both on his South American tour and more recently in the UK it’s clear he is a man that has been earmarked for the top. What better place to see one of dance music’s future stars than at Residence this April!
