I didn't know Weston had the facility for night flights and still not sure if it has,
but at about 01:00 I heard a single engine plane flying over on approach to Weston.

Does Weston have a 24hr control tower?

You could be on to something!

Weston tower only operates within the hours of VFR. What you probably observed was the nightly cargo flight into Dublin , on approach to Rwy 10. The approach is only 4 miles north of Weston

It was probably something going into Dublin. Apart from anything else Weston doesn't have lights so it couldn't open at night anyway.

Could have been military aswell. They often overfly weston when inbound to Baldonell, especially at night .
