    Turnberry Open 2009.

Love the way the back of the gove is still facing out in both positions.

Also love the head positions vs the clock board and the way he keeps looking down at where the ball was in positions 3 and 4 in followthrough.

I have been getting lessons the last few weeks and I have seen allot of side by sides with Ernie and it is such a great swing,. Put mine beside it and I look like a total donkey..

    So natural and easy looking

My favorite player growing up and probably the best swing of all time, silky smooth with amazing flexibility and tempo but yet great power, just makes it so effortless looking and hasn't changed over the years. Unreal bunker player also. Glad to see the Big Easy win The Open last year even if it was with a long putter.

Interesting thing about El's swing is that although he takes just over 1 second to swing (0.8 backswing & transition + 0.25 downswing) he's only 0.1 second slower than average Tour player.

Yet many amateurs believe they swing faster than Els and believe they should slow their swing to achieve his smooth action. The reality is that most amateurs swing a lot slower than 1 second.

It's all in the tempo, almost exactly 3 times the amount of time spent on the back swing as on the downswing.

From the link - at the top of the main page:

“A key focus of any modern golfer is to increase their distance off the tee. I use the Tour Tempo training aid to help with my tempo and power and know it would definitely be of help to any amateur golfer.”
Padraig Harrington Major Champion PGA Tour Pro

I stopped reading after this :pac:
