CLAY DRAINAGE PIPES

We had what looked like a spring in one of our lower lying paddocks since last summer. The oul fella was sure it was an old clay drain which was causing the problem. Anyway we dug down on it late last week and sure enough old drain where a metre approx long section had collapsed/been crushed. Good flow of water through it now. My question is what is the best method to reconnect the two old clay sections? I'll have to go back to measure it but I think it's a 225mm/9inch pipe.

    Thanks in advance.

Just get a larger diameter pipe and slide a section of it over the clay pipe?

    Yes.

Grand. It's the obvious solution but I just wanted to check if there was something handier or more suitable to do the repair.
