What are you finding it hard to do at the moment?

I'd consider myself to be somewhat competent at the moment. Can get around (and have been doing so) just fine in most everyday situations. I try to get into the car for at least a half an hour or so every day to just keep myself in check.

For a while there I couldn't do hill starts. No problem with them now, but for a short period of time I thought I'd never be able to do them. Mad how much you progress with a bit of experience and practice.

At the moment, my biggest issue (and likely to be for a while, unfortunately) is reversing (specifically around a corner, which is part of the test) and spatial awareness (judging distance of my own car to other objects (mostly those behind me, or again, when I'm reversing).

Once I get over this hurdle I reckon I'll be able to get through the test, but I find it difficult to practice reversing (without potentially doing damage to someone's property :p ).

I've looked at Youtube video tutorials, etc. but just can't seem to get my head around it. I understand the mechanics of the turning of the car and such, and I try to picture the car from above and how/when it should turn, etc. but just can't seem to do it in practice.

Not even going to bother booking the test until I feel better at this as I know I'd be only wasting my time. :o

So I was just curious as to what other people may be struggling with at the moment, and how far along ye are? Do you think you're "test ready" or is there a particular aspect of the test that's hanging over you that you aren't able to do (or stuff that's part of everyday driving, not necessarily only things that are in the test).

    :)

I can do the reverse perfect 99% of the time. I can outline with pictures the system I use if you want.

I'm due to do my test next week after 6 months of driving, and according to my instructor the main thing which gets me now is just a little bit of hesitation when overtaking cars on narrow roads. Then again, I may be doing 100 other things wrong according to whatever tester I get on the day, but as far as I know and feel, I have the potential to pass :)

I am also finding it difficult to master the reverse around a corner, it's hard to find a good spot to practice! Would you mind posting (if you have the time) the system you use? thanks!

Will do, though I won't be going out in the car again today.

I'll post what I do tomorrow (in this thread) with one or two pictures.

Would also be quite interested in that, if you didn't mind :)
