    Hi Folks,

Looking for some suggestions for some where to play near enough to the main Dublin to Cork Rd.

Group of 6 of us heading to an event in Cork next Friday (12th) and were looking to stop off for a game along the way. Need to be in Cork for 6 and Leaving from Dublin preferably not too much before 9.

Nothing to harsh on the pocket preferably

    All suggestions welcome, Cheers. R

Rathdowney, Thurles and Mitchelstown would be good options. All just off the motorway. I've only played Rathdowney myself but I've heard good things about the other two also.

Heritage in Laois would be a good bet.

The Heritage a good call - long and hard - championship standard.

Easier , quick and cheap The Heath. As well as cheap, it is sheep .

Cheers folks, was looking at herritage and mitchelstown, seams to be good rates there too €25 pre 9 in The Herritage and an open in mitchelstown for €15.

One of the lads is from the uk and has a handicap overthere, is this ok for open comps? (others all have gui cards)

If you are bringing a lad from the UK The Herritage is worth seeing (Don't know Mitchelstown?)

If he likes golf, the link with Seve and all that is intersting. Also mad to see how mad Ireland got :o

What are the bunkers like these days at the Herritage? Have heard they have not been great in recent times since NAMA.

Good point - heard that too , A joke if true - so worth finding that out - Someone on here would have played it in last month or so ?

played heritage last week. Place is in fantastic condition. Bunkers arent top quality but still as good as anything i've seen elsewhere. Teeboxes, greens, fairways are in great nick tho.

I've also recommend Thurles. Was a member of Mitchelstown before but Thurles is a cracking track.
