Any one got any ball park figures for what it would cost to have 2000 old tiles removed and replaced with new ones? its a bungalow with no chimney of veluxs to work around.

Its hard to say depending on the tiles you want they could be any where from 1 euro to 1.60 each, and I would think the labour would be 1000 euro or so

cheers, yea, I meant to say what would the labour costs be. The tiles will be what ever they are but it's hard to get a roofer to give a ball park figure for the labor costs. I write software and you have to be able to estimate costs for something that is only remotely similar to something you might have done before. Why then is it so hard for a guy who has done 10s of very similar roofs before to say, hmmm 2500 tiles, fairly low pitched roof, 30 ridge tiles, price should be ...... €xxx

Have you priced slates instead of tiles? Just thinking with the storms last year tiles tend to lift quicker than slates.

I have tiles and thinking about slates but have not got as far as costing yet.
