Not sure if everyone of aware of this, it was my 1st visit.
It is located in Shannon town at the traffic lights near Mcdonald's.

Inside it contains aviation memoriblia, several nose sections including a
BAC 1-11 and 2 BAE 146's. There are a number of simulators including a 737-800 on which for the princely sum of 50 euro you can fly a circuit at Shannon.

The external display consists of the following aircraft.
    WR410 Venom http://flic.kr/p/e9tVqw
    XM144 Lightning - nose only http://flic.kr/p/e9nPa8
    XX897 Buccaneer http://flic.kr/p/e9tm1y
    EI-CIA Rallye http://flic.kr/p/e9nT4g
    EI-COZ PA-28 http://flic.kr/p/e9tEwL
    G-BTVV C337 http://flic.kr/p/e9o5hi
G-GFCD Piper PA-34 Seneca fuselage only

Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

    Ken

It's a 737-300 sim that's basically flight sim shoehorned into a scrapped 737-300, will give an idea of how it's like to fly.

Lad who runs it is quite sound, that jt3d out front must be in a heap. Speaking of 707 bits there's a landing gear and a engine there, a vertical stab in the airport, wonder if there's a fuselage n wings lying around Shannon too!

Another de Havilland Venom and an Avro Anson on the way from GB.

There is a cock-pit section of an Anson inside so not sure if this is the one to which you refer or another is on the way.

I was there in January. they've a lot more static display aircraft added since then by the looks of it which is great. Only the buccaneer and the 707 bits were there outside during my visit. There was the BA-111 & 146 inside however.

Have to say it was a really great visit. The guy running the demo was sound and very good with information and very enthusiastic. Not in any way connected to the industry so I really enjoyed the flight sim. It's very much on my todo list for a return visit!

Why are we so bad in Ireland in advertising these places?
I didn't even know it existed.

who is funding this place? They seem to be acquiring a lot of aircraft in quite a short time.

It was advertised a lot when it was opened. i guess things just died down over time.

They do a lot of courses there. and advertise them in the local paper. I done a course there last September for 8 weeks was very good. although they didnt have a lot of a/c
