Advice about equipment

Hey, just looking for some general advice for buying some equipment for a starting band! as a quick background, there's three members, three on vocals, two guitars, one banjo, and a cajon. we'd mostly be playing small gigs in pubs and that, just play alot of easy listenening and some light countryish music for a bit of a dance! we've had a couple of gigs with rented gear, and after a torrid first experience we want to try and get our own gear sorted. renting is all well and good but we'd be looking at buying something that would do us in a pub situation.
    Now,
Q1. would a set of decent tops be enough in most places, with the option to add bins if we needed?
Q2. have any of you gigged with behringer gear? it seems to be decent value and reviews seem good but want to make sure? we were using behringer speakers for our second gig and they had a nice rich sound.

we were looking at this bundle from thomann; http://www.thomann.de/ie/prod_cbundle_26.html?gk=pamipm&cbcid=136&art=151170

with a behringer pmp4000 mixer, and behringer b1220 tops.

Q3. would they work with a 4 ohm amp in 8 ohm speakers? i know power will be halved with the larger resistance, but it should still be okay, right?

sorry for the millions of questions, and thanks!
