We have two lovely service age Pedigree bulls, great EBIs, good mothers the lot... we advertised them on a website and in our local newspaper but we have got no calls. Are farmers not buying because of the weather or is it too early yet?

We haven't got 1 inquiry even, it's very surprising as we usually sell bulls very easily out of our yard and certainly get loads on enquiries.

advertise them again next week when milk cheque is in... we sold 2 bulls in the last 10 days, think the lack of money and lack of feed will mean people will be slow to buy

tbh, i wouldnt bother putting them in the journal, did you see the amount of ads last week, stick them on done deal again... journal is too expensive for advertising imo

On the local radio's farm program on KCLR a couple of weeks ago they said that the demand for bulls is not great at the moment, and that said as said here, it is due to the weather and fodder crisis on many farms.

    Things will change.

Lack of cash real issue. Milk price rise of >2c/litre after Mon meeting of Glanbia board that will change things .I think people are just waiting, like the spring everything is late.
