I have 2 sat boxes connected to quad lnb
When I disconnect the cable from the upstairs box the signal disappears on the downstairs box.
    Any ideas?

    (1) Faulty LNB

    (2) If 'Outer ' of satellite co-ax cable to downstairs box is a poor connection somewhere: Note The Co-ax, as well as signal carries DC current from box to power the LNB. (inner positive, outer negative) . Despite a bad 'outer' connection the DC circuit is being indirectly completed somehow to downstairs (terrestrial aerial cable from a common point to both TV locations probably)

If the downstairs box lnb power was off, it wouldn't have been receiving a signal, no matter about the upstairs one.

The 4 lnb outputs are powered independently, or should be anyway. Must be some kind of electrical fault, like Antenna mentioned.
