Dublin Bus Tickets

Please bear with me as this is slightly mortifying; how do you buy a 7 day student bus ticket for dublin bus? I want to travel from Rathmines to city centre everyday.
I literally have not got a clue about how to do it. I use the Luas frequently and also the trains and Bus Eireann, no idea how Dublin Bus works.

First get a Student Travelcard - details here:

Then go to any Dublin Bus ticket agent or Dublin Bus HQ at 59 Upper O'Connell Street and buy your ticket. Ticket agents are listed here:

And then is it a touch on and off thing or just hop on and go?

Just touch the smartcard reader each time as you board and that's it.

The rambler range of tickets are valid on non-consecutive days - handy if you don't use the bus every day.

Just go to the tickets and fares section of the Dublin Bus website - it is very clear.
