    Meh.

No substitute for the auld 07 Mondeo with three different marked panels, roofbar held on with twine, a nee but no naw and a nacent civilisation amid the half eaten quarter pounders under the drivers seat......

but its a fantastic tool, we only have a minuscule amount and we dont look like rolling it across the fleet in the future

    thats the tragedy really

the ozzy boys are well equipped as are their cars. theyre alot more suited to police work and are equipped to be with large engines, on board recording equipment, speed radars etc. our lads get a family car, 1.6 petrol with a blue light, siren and luiminous stickers - nothing more

they also have special designed 'divvy' vans for prisoner transport

i think we lag well behind

i also had the experience of seeing a Lenco BearCat - plenty of districts could do with them of a saturday night!

Nice piece of kit, but the decals, like on most Aussie squad cars, are questionable. They always remind me of motor sport safety or pace cars.

I was at Bristol Temple Meads station recently and saw a British Transport Police car with ANPR. What could they possibly need that for? In case someone is driving along the approach to the station in an untaxed / uninsured car while they happen to be passing. 45% of their time is spent assisting on ticket checks, 45% trying to stop people nicking cable. They are funded indepently, have too much money and buy loads of superfluous hardware. I've never seen anything with a numberplate attempt to travel without a ticket.
