It would be interesting to see if they will do any short routes with it before it enters long haul service like Air France did with their first A380s between London and Paris, perhaps London to Madrid due to the IAG Iberia linkup?

If they do i hope it's made public so i could get on it [I cant be the only one]

AirFrance did trial runs from CDG-LHR-CDG before they put their A380 into full revenue service. I didn't have time off to take the spin over to Paris at the time....

Would be well up to do the same if BA offered it.

It is due to be delivered in July so looks like there will be some time before it commences LHR-LAX. I would say its a given that it will be deployed on short haul route (s) to build up experience.

    Looks well in BA livery.

Looks great alright, one of the best looking A380's yet IMO, along with the Malaysian A380.

Was reading about in on airliners.net, some people were saying it'll be deployed on the LHR - MAD route but others said it wasn't. Presumably, BA would like a nice short route for starters and in fairness LHR - CDG is a really short flight, under an hour so it may just be put on that again. The LHR - MAD flight is probably over 2 hours.

Out of interest, what are the prices like for these intro flights, like Air France did on the A380. Is there sufficient extra capacity provided by the A380 to keep the ticket costs down or would there still be decent demand? I imagine its not as bad as it was a few years ago when Air France launched. The A380 has been in service over 5 years now and many would have been on them with the other carriers

This video gives a nice glimpse of the classes. World Traveller Plus looks very nice indeed and will be a popular choice

I believe the tickets were around E100 per seat return a few years ago. Didn't get the opportunity to go on it but maybe this summer if BA launch a short flight.

To promote the new service, announced this week, British Airways is offering introductory round-trip airfares from Los Angeles to London of $830 for World Traveller, $1,380 for World Traveller Plus and $3,800 for Club World.

That aint too bad of a price to LA for $830

I dont like the colours with that aircraft. It could be that the images are too bright though (as its night)

Ha very clever use of the numbers 3, 8 and 0 in those prices. Pity the cheapest one isnt $380!!
