Does anyone know a good calculator to work out how much sand and gravel I would need for paving or can anyone give me an idea for 12 square meter area
I don't want to order a tonne of sand if I only need half that etc.

    Cheers

depends how deep you want to go....

    12m squared @ 1" deep = 400kg approx
    "" "" @ 2" = 800kg "
    @ 3" = 1200kg

the way i work it out is:
    (a) the depth in inches divided by 39, (b) the area you want to cover (metres squared) and (c) use the number 1.33

    so its a x b x c = total tonnage needed

there might be an easier way but this way never fails me

Thanks for that, did find an online calculator but I ended having to convert from yards to feet to tonne etc but the figures are about the same as yours. Long time since I was at school ;o)

    Cheers
