    Hi,can anyone tell what age a child has to be to not need parental consent for prescribed meds from a GP?

    In Ireland 16 is the age of medical consent.
    In the UK this has been tested for under 16's (Gillick rules) for contraceptives and the law is (there) that it varies according to the maturity of the child and the situation. The same possibly applies here but has not yet been tested in law.
