Stop Mobile Data whilst Roaming?

    Hi all.

I'm going away to Spain for 2 weeks tomorrow. It will be my first time bringing a billpay smartphone abroad with me and I want to ensure I don't run up any huge bills whilst I'm away.

I have a Galaxy S3 with Android 4.1.2 - am I right in thinking if I simply have "Mobile Data" unselected from the drop down menu on top, for the duration of my holiday there's no fear of me in anyway running up roaming mobile data charges?

Is there anything else I need to select/unselect to make sure I won't be running up a bill in knownst of myself?

    Thanks!

That's all there is to it really, also you'll save plenty on battery life, and if you wanted to save even more on battery life, you could change the setting to use only 2G networks. You'll still be able to make and take calls and texts, just that 3G is better turned on if you're using mobile data because it's faster.

He may have better coverage for voice if he leaves 3G on (even if not using data) as he may be in a area with poor 2G coverage. 3G isnt just for data it carries voice and text too. So I wouldnt recommend turning off 3G - turning off Mobile Data as he noted will be sufficient for what he wants to achieve.
