    Looking for some thoughts on this car please :)

    I'm in the market for a Golf/Focus size car (2005 or 2006) but IMO the Golf is way overpriced for the what you get so I am starting to cast the net a little wider.

    Anyone have any opinions of the C4? What to look out for or avoid? Is the 1.4 under powered??

    we have a 1.4 c4, about 50k up on it, not underpowered in my opinion, find it nippy enough when pushed will also accelerate in fifth at motorway speeds.

    Ours has had only one issue, the pcb behind the main display which also stores the odometer reading failed due to moisture 600 euro ouch!

    was probably because the OH drove 1 mile each morning and evening to the bus station and it never got a chance to heat up and get rid of moisture.

    Other than that reasonable on the juice and no other non routine maintenance issues.

    we inherited it so know its provenance from new and much as it took me a while to like it has been excellent.
