blues and jazz suggestions

    friend of mine is opeining a bar and wants to play blues and jazz. anybody have suggestions of what tracks to put on

    For jazz, you cant go far wrong with Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" album. Other albums by Davis to consider would be "Miles Ahead", and "Miles of Smiles".

    Other jazz artists worth checking out :

    Stan Getz : Bill Evans : Charlie Parker : "Cannonball" Adderly : our own Louis Stewart and Noel Kelehan : Charles Mingus : more contempory jazz would include "Weather Report" and John Mclaughlin's "Mahavishnu Orchestra".

    Blues :

    Buddy Guy : Freddy, Albert and BB King : John Mayall's Bluesbreakers : Peter Green : Roomful of Blues : Derek Trucks : Mike Bloomfield : our own Rory Gallagher.
