This is a handicap event, right?

Not handicapped - a rolling mass start but has a good prize list for unplaced A2's

Not much talk of the Elliott on here, not surprising given the field is restricted to A2 upwards.

Most prestigious 1-day race in the calendar. Good tough 140km route and what looks like challenging weather tomorrow. Any on here planning on signing on in the morning?

I'd watch this instead of the Giro if it were televised. Was hoping to pick up the last of the points this month to get to A2 and qualify, but a certain windscreen ruined that plan. My money's on Mr Grieves!

Philip Lavery monstered the route last year. Led from practically start to finish. It'll be interesting to see if he's home to defend his title. Good test too for a lot of guys a week before the Rás.

    SB says he's "expected": http://www.stickybottle.com/latest-news/hotly-contest-shay-elliott-memorial-in-prospect-as-top-men-fine-tune-ras-form/

And most of them are too busy out on their bikes training to post on boards :o

Maybe that's where we're going wrong...

Probably :pac: Hadn't seen that SB article, it's good. I'll try and post a few updates from whenever they roll through the spots I'm marshalling.

Shaw took Elliott KOM. At finish now, 500m uphill headwind drag if there's a few together. Tough stuff

    Winners:
    1 Conor Murphy (Eurocycles-Eurobaby)
    2 Thomas Martin (Eurocycles-Eurobaby)
    3 Damien Shaw (Aquablue)

    (source: Twitter, confirmed by SB)

Top 8 as Tweeted by Bray Wheelers - Conor Murphy, Thomas Martin, Eoin Morton, Damien Shaw, Martin Mizgayski, Art McManus, Sean Lacey, Andrew Meehan. Shaw 4th as opposed to the 3rd SB are reporting.

I didn't see the finish, was doing stuff about 300m before the line, but Shaw looked like he was going to kick on from there. Heard at the scene that he was pipped for 3rd though.

They rolled out from Bray Wheelers clubhouse at 11 to a neutralised start a few km away on the N11. Winning two man break finished the 140km at about 2 35pm
