New denture giving me jip

    Hi everyone,

I got a partial upper denture fitted 10 days ago, my front four incisors on the top were extracted and the denture put in immediately. Alas, my gums are healing very very quickly and after ten days the denture doesn't fit at all. It's uncomfortable in my mouth and I have friction blisters galore. Yesterday, I was at the dentist having another extraction and he said he'd take a remould of my upper teeth next Monday and get a new denture. I am assuming that I won't be charged for this.... did I seriously just pay a fortune for teeth that didn't fit after 10 days?! Also, is there anything I can do to ease the pain of them? I have been eating Nurofen Plus like smarties which I would obviously rather not do longterm. Is there any topical cream or ointment I could use to take the edge off the discomfort? The Fixodent stuff provides a cushion for a while, but as it starts to lose its adhesive qualities over the course of the day, the blisters on my upper gum just go mad.

Any advice or suggestions would be gratefully received! Thanks :D
