Probably belongs in all things retro judging by the disks used

Back in the day you could get demo drives with transparent covers

With the thickness of the drives, and the fashion, it definitely isn't a recent video!!

Slightly more recent video here (2008)

Back in the 1980s the IBM 3340 (removable) and 3350 (non-removable) disk drives had covers that you could lift and watch the arms (actuators) jump back and forth inside the sealed HDA (head & disk assembly).

This is the 3340, the 3350 HDA was bigger (more platters) but the outer cabinet was the same. A 3340 volume (one of the two units shown) could store 35 or 70MB.

Hard drives have had a relatively long life in usage when you consider the leaps and bounds being made in other areas. Even now hard drives are more common and affoardable than ssd for most people.
