Period 9 days late but negative test

As per the title my period is 9 days late but a clear blue digital test, which I took on Monday evening came up negative.

I do have typical pmt symptoms but not as severe as I would expect.

I thought the clear blue digital tests were very good. Can they be wrong after your period was due?

There is always a chance of a false negative, never a false positive. Also, with both of my pregnancies, I felt as though I was getting my period. Go to your doctor, they have more sensitive tests than the over the counter brands. Good Luck xxx

Yep I don't think I could be but who knows. It's not that easy to get to a doctor til next week. I wonder if another home test would show up something in a couple of days. It's 38 days since my last period andy average period cycle length is 39 based on the last 5 months

Give it til the weekend. Then get another CB, worse that can happen is another no, which I know when TTC is gut-wrenching. But worth a shot. I was irregular too, I know the feeling xxx

Home tests are much more sensitive than the doctors ones.
Try a non digital one as the digital ones are less sensitive, so try a normal clear blue or a First response.

If you're only at 38 days and your average is 39, it could be just still too early to test. Are you sure about when you ovulated?

First Response tests are great for a clear early result.

They work on 10 microlitres of HCG, whereas most of the doctor's ones work on 25.

There's a poster here who got a stack of First Response positives and her GP wouldn't believe her because "his test" was still negative. :D

My girlfriend was in a similar situation not to long ago she went a couple of weeks late and god knows how many tests she took :pac:.

The doc put it down to the usual ''Stress'' bull****.

I guess it can happen every month can be different for different reasons. Sure for whatever reason her ovulation date was out by a few days this month as well and there was no clear signs to cause it either.

Anyway see what happens you should have some idea soon enough anyway unfortunately in these situations the waiting is the worst but hopefully you get the answer your looking for in the end! :)

    Best of luck.

I know how it feels was in same situation with me girlfriend and its something we bought really want.

All ill say is relax if possible keep an open mind nothing is in stone until its clear as day theres nothing going on yet.

We got our hopes up the longer it went on but with every test u kinda felt stupid after a while.

Give it another while anyway see what happens.

All i know is you just never know because a friend of mine got pregnant and no test could tell her until she was more then 3 months !.

If it turns out your not pregnant then not to worry just keep trying theres not much else anyone can do but try there best ya know :-)

    Cara May

I tested negative for ten days on my second pregnancy. Nearly Drove me of my rocker.

I'd a fortune spent and then bought tesco own brand preg testing strips.
Was the first one to give me a positive.

I don't want to give you false hope.

Really to put your mind at ease you need to either stop testing til next period is due or else ask doctor to do a blood test .

    Best of luck

Fingers crossed for you, Have you any other symptoms? It could be a simple missed period. If you have been pregnant before, you might remember the feelings. Sore boobs, sense of smell increased, it varies from person to person. On mine I knew well before I took the test. I felt pregnant.

I had pmt symptoms the last time as well but my test showed positive straight away. I have all the typical early pregnancy symptoms - v sore boobs, dizzy, hungry, tired, nausea etc etc which could also be pmt

I am due to ovulate again tomorrow. I don't think I am preg but have never had a missed period before (except when I was pg). Hope it's not an ectopic pregnancy.

Poor thing, waiting is the worst thing ever. You should go the the doctor today and put your mind at ease because if it is a missed period all this stress isn't helping.
