Bolbrook and Avonbeg, Tallaght. what are areas like?

    I have a friend thinking of buying in the bolbrook, avonbeg area of tallaght. I know that avonbeg had a bad name in the past but was wondering if anyone knew what they are like now.

    They're not great. Is your friend from the area, or from an area like them?

    No she's not from the area. She has got a small kid and is looking for somewhere fairly safe. She saw a house in bolbrook that she really liked but doesn't really know the area.

    I personally wouldn't raise a kid there given the choice.

    No offence to all the perfectly decent inhabitants of the area.

    Never lived there myself but a friends of mine bought a house there..............then quickly sold it.

    Didn't delve into why but I got the feeling they weren't happy with the teenagers loitering outside their property all night.
