Any dentists here using mouth cameras to show you what needs to be done ?

They seem to be living in the 'trust me I'm a Dentist' dark ages in this country:mad: , I'm sure a lot more customers would get more work done if they saw the state of their teeth >

tbh i dont think the average person is going to have the 4/5 years of specialised education* needed to diagnose issues, unless they break a tooth and you dont need a camera to know that!

Not everything is visible, otherwise dentists wouldnt need xray machines

fitzgeme/Dianthus , if you know of anyone in the S Dublin / N Wicklow area using them maybe you could PM me with addresses ??

Like most people I don't have 'searchlights' on the bathroom mirror to look into my mouth , just do the usual cursory brush 2-3 times day but sometimes have the time/light to check further and don't like what I see. My regular hygeneist in Bray moved/gave it up, then used to get them done overseas when I was on holliers ( €6 !!!! ), then I tried a local dentist who told me on the phone €50 to clean but then phoned back to say I'd have to get them 'checked' (+€50 !!! ) before getting them cleaned (~Total €100 ) so I haven't bothered since then.

Like some businesses the medical/dentistry profession don't seem to want to 'engage' with their customers - their attitude is " I'm the expert, trust me, you don't need to know/see what I'm doing"

In my case I like to know and understand what the 'professionals' are doing - if I saw my teeth on camera I'd definitely get them worked on more often to keep them in shape :D:D
