Starlings S*it on themselves.

As you may have seen on the live video feed I have barred off the bird table and removed the mixed feed tray that was on the feeder stand. I have been overrun by starlings, Magpies and more recently 2, then 4, then 6 feral pigeons arrived.

My missus called a halt, as I had the pressure wash out every other day trying to keep the cr*p in check but the kids swings / trampoline where getting destroyed.

Now, as in since Sunday the Starlings have mainly moved on, one or two still show up to have a look and the original 2 pigeons are realising that there is no point in routing here.

The Blue Tits / Robins etc should be soon feeling a bit more relaxed.

I understand that the Starlings have to eat also and I actually love the entertainment value that they provide while squabbling among themselves but enoughs enough.

I have a big field at the end of our street so tomorrow Im gonna put up a feeder tray and they can feed there on my seedmix scraps etc.

I know they cr*p a lot but good on you for realizing that they need to eat too....esp in this freezing weather.
I had a lot of starlings in the big freeze winter but not so much this one.
Sparrows, chaffinches, goldfinches etc produce quite some s*it too. I need to hose every other day :)

Also a good idea to clean regularly to prevent diseases passing between birds
