For those (mountaineers, adventurers) who may be interested, there will be a free information seminar on 'How to Avoid Altitude Sickness' at the Great Outdoors, Chatham Street, Dublin next Tues April 9th at 7pm.

The presentation will be delivered by Colin Griffin, Director of The Altitude Centre Ireland and will outline how a person can be screened for risk of Altitude Sickness, pre-acclimatize in advance of a high altitude challenge, coping strategies while at altitude, and other useful tips on how to enjoy your challenge and have a successful outcome. A demo AMS Susceptibility Test will be performed on a selected member of the audience.

    For more enquiries contact ireland@altitudecentre.com or 061 748585 or The Great Outdoors info@greatoutdoors.ie or 01 679 4293.

Perhaps if they spend a little while downstairs before moving to the second floor it might help . How about a basecamp 2 halfway up the stairs.!

Maybe a visit back down to the basement would help after C2 before the final push to the top floor? Boukreev used to do this all the time.
