    Hi,

I need some help! I have to do a research project as part of my Accounting & Finance degree. The topic I have chosen is the ever changing role of accountants and auditors and new rules and legislation they have to follow. This topic is based around a new piece of legislation that has been introduced into Ireland and this piece of legislation is the Criminal Justice Act 2011 - Implications for Accountants and Auditors when it comes to white collar crime. This piece of legislation states that accountants and auditors can no longer hold information or else the gardaí will get involved and there are serious consequences for them. I am going to compare this to the company law that was in place before this law was introduce. I need some help tho as I cant find any Irish Law cases to back up both legislation's when it comes to accountants and auditors being in the wrong. I hope someone can help me!

    Cheers!

The problem you are going to have is that there isnt going to be a huge abundance written judgments based on the 2011 Act because it's so recent and was there any legislation covering what the 2011 Act covers prior to it? Because, if there wasnt, then obviously there wont be anything on it.

Just start reading a few company law books and the footnotes will have plenty of references to chase up.

    Follow this: http://www.tjmcintyre.com/2013/02/impact-of-criminal-justice-act-2011-on.html?m=1

Get paywalled article. Read the Act ...

New law area. Thus there may be an explanatory memorandum

If you cannot find Irish cases look outside the jurisdiction. See if there are similar laws elsewhere and how their courts deal with them.
