I'm looking to get an odyssey 770 putter shortened by 2 inches before Saturday morning. I've checked with mcguirks and they no longer have the tools. With work the way it is at the moment I wouldn't be able to drop the club in till about 9 pm and then hopefully collect it at 9 on Friday night. That’s why I was hoping a boardsies around the area might have the tools or contacts and be looking for a little nixer.

The grip on the putter is perfect but I'm not sure if they can be salvaged or not? If not I can fly up to mcguirks at lunch and pick one up if needs be.

If anyone can help or would have a number of someone that might be able to help I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance.

I thought this was one of the few DIY jobs you can do with club custom fitting. Just Hack it off and regrip.

If the swingweight feels a bit off use a bit of lead tape on the head.

I've no tools available to me at all john, living in a rented house at the moment so would need a hand with this project.

    Cheers

Ah sorry. If worst comes to worst you might buy the grip, then knock on the neighbours door asking for a hacksaw on Friday evening.

The Guards may be called though :)

Halpenny in Swords will generally do it while you wait, they are open to 9 on a Thursday not sure about tonight. They are able to save the grip most times.

Just spoke to warren in halpenny swords, said they'd do it for me in store within 24 hrs for €15 provided they they can save the grip. Grip is brand new so shouldn't be an issue but at that price I might treat myself to a new super stroke grip I see all those golfers that are better than me using !

Good service and a fair price from halpenny in my opinion. Will let you know how the putter turns out in the end.
