Getting into cartos.....

I'm starting to get a pain in my rear with clearos on my ego-c. A lot if dry hits, and I seem to be constantly breaking the threads off the drip tips.

I'm thinking of getting a kir franis Petra tank. Will boge cartomisers work with it?

So what do I need to do when it arrives? Punch the carto, put the tank over it, fill the tank, allow it to soak, screw carto directly onto battery?

Then do I just need to change my carto every week or so?

Anything else I need to replace?

If I upgrade to a vamo do I need to go changing my carto delivery setup again?

What resistance carto do I need for my egoc?

Sorry for all the questions lads, you've all been a great help in getting me off the dreaded analogues!

    Ta.

I use the Petra tank with LR Boges standard size on a Twist at 4v.

Much much better than clearo's. just be sure to prime it right first and you're all set!

Started off with roughly the same kit as yourself and couldnt get much joy,dry hit, gurgling, sucking juice etc so bought a petra tank and was a big difference but got a hissy airy drag.Putting juice in it too was a bit of a let down having to slide the tank down the carto to fill and ending up with some slippery fingers...just my account :)
Thought the twist was the bees knees on a budget untill i got a major upgrade A BUDGET VAMO a major leap for the vaping mankind, stuck an AGR tank onto that and never looked back. The AGR tanks roughly the same price as the PETRA but it holds more juice, can just take the tip off and top screw and fill with a needle syrnge or unscrew the top section and fill straight from the juice bottle.Another major plus is that it cant slide on the carto and leak because of the additional screw on base attatchment....

First fill is a bit of a pain alright but after that carto's in a tank are pretty much faff free. I only use them when on the move and when I cant drip but if I was using them full time I'd definitely buy a decent tank for full time carto use alright.

They just lack something for me......but I do rate them compared to clearos....

Agree with damon and hornet, all info above is spot on. Only thing I'll add is vamo + agr is much heavier than twist + petra. I use the vamo + agr setup for home use (or in the car), as well as some other devices and the twist + petra for out and about. Unless you really don't mind carrying around a chunk of stainless steel with you (wear a belt if you keep it in your pocket). You just have to make sure you punch the carto correctly and you prime it correctly for any carto tank. Buy a few spare cartos as you may ruin the first one or two.

Pbusardo has a video up recently about the whole carto procedure on youtube, if that might help you (includes carto punching). I would go with the AGR myself also, fantastically functional tank. Definitely carto tanks are worth a go, I came to despise clearos, the inconsistency and faffing around.

Yeah. Cartos are in a different league to clearo's. I think it's a pity that new vapers go straight to clearo's now. If Id gone to clearo's to start with I would have given up on vaping Id say. Bear in mind that a year and a half ago you had to fill them with syringes and so on as well...

That being said, as bad as Clearos are they have improved somewhat but cartos still seem to be the same. Wonder will there be a next generation carto?

Thanks so much for all the replies folks!

I ordered a Petra tank, a load of lr boges, a few drip tips and a carto punch.

    The difference is immense!

Petra tank isn't as bad to fill as I expected either!

By some pure fluke I managed to punch my first carto perfectly. Hurrah!
