Generally if you're looking at the pros and cons of something, it means you're comparing two options. Otherwise your question is very broad.

    I would say:

    Pros:
    - Can do exams at different times of the year (twice a year instead of once)
    - No training contract
    - Can move to different companies
    - Can train in industry and practice
    - Can take longer to complete / take breaks from exams
    - Take less subjects at a time
    - Don't have to wait for a job to enrole
    - Same exemptions
    - Better salary in industry
    - Online lectures / less classes

    Cons:
    - No training contract so no audit
    - No study leave
    - Have to pay fees yourself unless your company agrees to it
    - No guarantee of job for full term of the studies
    - Big 4 only take on training contract staff
    - Can't do FAE without experience (unless you've been working for 4 years)

That's been my experience of it so far. I don't think the cons outweigh the pros to be honest with you.
