So What Have I Missed This Season?

Coming towards the end of the TV season and renewals and so on should all be confirmed so now seems as good a time as any to discuss the season as a whole. I have an ulterior motive because I can't think of any shows that started this year that I've watched (other than Go On) and I don't want to click into any spoiler thread to see if it's worth watching. Also summer is coming and I want to get a few thousand hours of viewing lined up. :pac:

So does anyone fancy summarising any new shows this season? :)

this season has been brutal for the most part, I dumped a ton of more shows. I had like 9 episodes of OUAT stored up....and I said screw it, too far behind and hit delete.

I still think Arrow is very watchable, for guilty pleasure and the fact they answered a ton of questions I really loved season 2A of The Lying Game...it was just juicy entertainment :)

Bunheads was much improved in season 1A, but I have dropped soo many shows now....i'm barely a tv watcher anymore.

You pay a closer eye on ratings than TV Rich! :pac:

Anyways, very little new shows worth recommending from the US bar Elementary (which has been consistently good).

Comedy wise - The Mindy Project improves week on week and The Neighbours was good fun.

Have heard good things about Banshee (need to get past episode 1) and The Americans (haven't started).

I think there has been precisely nothing apart from Elementary and even that is a bit so-so.

    OUAT?

Yknow, there's pretty much no point using acronyms that a lot of people won't understand..

    I believe it's 'Once Upon A Time'..

.. or as I like to call it 'Fairytales For Tweens' (FFT).

+1 for The Americans - already renewed for a second season. Elementary is alright and might improve if Moriarty shows up. Suits (not so new) is watchable.

I saw something on Euro News recently about a convention where US networks sell next seasons shows to Worldwide TV stations, it took place sometime sept/oct it seems. Word was next years offerings are even worse than this years with a big drop in budget and writing quality across the board for new shows.
I'd hate to see what would beat this year in the "pure rubbish" stakes.

Banshee is definitely worth a watch. Probably the 2nd best new show after Elementary. It has great characters that are well acted and a reasonably well written story. Plenty of sex and explosions too, but it never feels like it's relying on them, and it feels like something that can grow and improve season on season.

Elementary really doesn't appeal to me either, annoying if that's the best the new season has to offer. :pac:

I'd also recommend Banshee, Elementary is better then it should be. I'd keep an eye on all the fringe channels doing originals, like Sundance, Netflix etc.

Vikings for me has to be my favourite new show and is more authentic than Spartacus due to it being made by the History channel
Loving Legit as it's humour is very balls to the wall funny

other lesser shows I've been following this season are The Following and Golden Boy

The only bad thing about Banshee is that the main guy is a crap actor.

Yeah, I can't take him seriously..

.. he looks like a made a rubber mask of Scott Foley's face and wears it around - completely expressionless!
