Sound Skipping on SKY+HD Box

I recently switched from using a Scart cable on my Sky+HD box to using a HDMI cable.

There now seems to be an issue where every few minutes the sound will disappear for a couple of seconds, then come back.

I don't believe it's the dish as I was watching a recorded show and rewound where there was a skip and the audio actually played on playback.

I tried a new HDMI cable today and it seemed to work for a few hours, then started happening again.

    I have a Sony Bravia 32 inch.

    Any ideas?

Highly unlikely it has anything to do with the HDMI cable, possible your hard-drive is nearly full? or may be worth doing housekeeping on your box.

To do housekeeping/planner rebuild. do the following to access hidden menu.

    Services
    0
    0
    1
    Select
    7
    Down

Do not select full reset as this will clear your drive.

It's certainly an HDMI problem. Many people have reported this symptom in various forums.

It's probably a firmware problem in the TV (incompatibility) but make sure that your HDMI cable is well away from any source of interference, such as the TV itself, mains cables, DECT phone, computer, router, etc.
