That was my first race yesterday and I know there is alot that i can improve on.

Signed up for group 1 as i didn't know what to expect. Pushed alot early and went off the front a few times on the way out to Greenore. Its something that i didn't want to do due to the headwind on the way back so i slowed down to the groups pace.

At the turn, there were a few of us close together and three of us stuck together and worked well back into Dundalk. Suffered from cramp in the calfs with about 3-4k to go and dropped of the pace. Finished fourth in the 123 race after somebody passed me with about 2k to go.

Happy with the result so roll on next week.

you had me and the lad in the red jersey in your pocket all evening-you were doing the lions share of the work-i thought you had it sewn up to be honest, if we were able to stay clear. which group will you ride with next week? how are the points awarded?

I wouldn't say i was strong. I suffered on the way in and I felt the two of you would have me anyway in the final part.

I'm not too sure how it works now with the upgrading of groups and the points. I think the winners of the race get the points while everybody else get points for turning up. The details shall be up on the website before the next round.
