    Hi lads/ladies

The EPC light came onto my 05 VW Bora today? Does any have any previous experience with this? Had a quick look at the web in general and there are tones of different answers? Is it a faulty sensor?

What engine? Realistically you're going to have to get the error codes read by a mechanic.

The reason there are lots of different answers is that there are lots of different causes for the EPC light to come on. You will need to get it diagnosed by somebody competent.

Check to see if your brake lights are working. If not, then you have a faulty brake light switch which causes the EPS light to come on - Had this prob on my Skoda Octavia (same engine etc as Golf/Bora); replaced faulty brake light switch and prob solved. Hope this helps.

My mams car a 1.4 Leon had the EPC light on it, if its driving ok and doesn't feel like there is anything majorly wrong it's ok to drive.
In her case a valve was stuck open. The car was running lean was the only problem.
You need to get it to a diagnostic reader to hopefully clear the fault.
