Looking at playing and staying in Rosslare for two nights then playing Bunclody on the way back on Sunday at the end of April, will make for a cheap golf weekend if we rent a house down there.

What condition are they in this time of year? I've not heard much about Rosslare in the last years, seems to have dropped off the radar in terms of desirability, remember something about upgrades a few years ago. The green fees on a friday are 30 early on, which is excellent, and have always been meaning to play it as the only east coast links I haven't played.

I played Rosslare last October. The course was in good condition and well maintained. They were starting to build some new bunkers on the right of the 17 fairway which will toughen the hole up.

It's not the hardest links, I've played but I've only ever played it in good weather which may be colouring my view. I think the best holes are on the front nine and the last 4 are probably a bit tame. In saying that, I would definitely play it if I was in the area.

They also have a seperate 12 hole links course called The Burrows which hasn't a single bunker. There are some good holes on the course and worth playing if you were staying there on holiday.

Thanks for the reply. Didn't know about the 12 hole course, some might want to play it on the Saturday.

Think I'll go ahead and book, were the greens ok?

The greens on the 12 holes are of a similar standard to the main course. It's nearly 20 months since I played it so can't comment on the current condition.

I played Rosslare about 10 days ago and it was in excellent condition. The greens were fast and it was incredibly dry (first time on a links and i didn't believe it could dry out as it did).

A fine course too - I'd love to go back and see could I not embarrass myself!
