hi did something like this ever happen to you how long did it last?

i train in kickboxing. last wednesday i was training and we were doing a lot of pad work ie punch combos and non stop punching for 1 minute and push ups etc in between sets/rounds, all with the hand wraps and gloves on of course.

on thursday morning id a pit of a twinge in my fingers nothing much so i went to the gym for a while and it was grand no pain. than thursday evening it was geting sore. than friday morning i coudent clench my fist, i could hold things etc put just couldent make a fist. now its tuesday i can make a fist but on my right hand my middle and index finger is v sore wen i make a fist and my left hand its just the finger besaide my little finger ( the wedding ring finger i think) 4 days and it doesent seem to getting a hole lot better as it was those fingers that were sore since thursday. could it b a case of punching to hard on the pads, or haveing the hand wraps to tight??? il ask the sensei tomorow and see what he advises. but have any of you had this issue before? cheers for the advice.

You have this in both hands? Usually pain on both sides of your body it's just a case of over working yourself, as the chances of injuring yourself in an identical manner on both sides is low. How long have you been kickboxing?

If you didn't feel a sudden pain in class, and the pain isn't so bad it's interfering with your day to day activity, then you probably don't need to go to a doctor just yet. Give it a few days and see how you get on. Avoid doing anything that makes it worse, and put some ice on it. Don't start hitting pads again until it clears up.

yes in both hands. ive been training for a bit over 3 months, my background is taekwondo so maybe my punching technique isent up to scratch yet. there is no swelling or bruising so im not sure what i really done.

Your gloves might be a tad too small, i had a smilar issue when i started

The gloves felt ok, but with very little room, not deep enough
The day after my hands would feel as you described.

Try my gloves on friday if you like

lasted two weeks until I figured out it was the gloves, passed the others on to my wife.
I took a break for about a week or so to let them settle then things were grand.

My top king gloves are a really nice fit, see if they are OK on you.
try on someone Else's top tens before you order them online.

Someone on here told the the top pro gloves are decent gloves too.

cheers, i used the red top ten in the interclub compitition and i liked them but i dunno, its one thing useing them for 2 3min rounds than it is useing them 3 times a week for a 1h 30mins each time. when i keep opening and closeing my fist after 5 mins they are 80% normal but after i stop exercising them they are back sore again. il give till the end of the week
