Seriously now, as the title suggests. what are all the weekend warriors using out on the spins in this weather?

Remember the Olson twins? I smear the two of them across my brow.

Skin grease! I'm only semi-joking, I don't actually use any face cream for bike rides, my skin doesn't seem to need it, it seems to have an adequate supply of its own natural "moisturiser".

Origins do a men's moisturiser that I use occasionally though and for general moisturising purposes it works well - it's pricey, but lasts a long time I've found. Better value options are probably available from Boots though (their Botanics range tends to be good value), or Lush. Or you could just use suncream, as some of those act as decent moisturisers (e.g. the Soltan range from Boots), and if you have delicate skin then the added sun protection can't hurt either.

I do need to use lip balm though, and for that I find the little lip blam sticks from Burt's Bees pretty good, though I have used and liked some of the stuff from Lush in the past too. For heavy duty lip protection though I find Lansinoh Lanolin excellent, and it's also great for healing any cracked skin (despite its title on that page, it's not all about the nipples!) - the skin on my hands tends to suffer from wearing multiple layers of gloves in cold weather and I find Lanolin very good for helping with that.

If you are racing it's usually snot, spit and tears and usually not yours.
And if you are riding events like Des Hanlon or Gorey you can prob add some vomit to that mix.

Clinique M-protect. Has SPF 25 in it so kills 2 birds with 1 stone.

You gotta love the interweb. An advert for Anti Aging cream has appeared just below Robfowl's post above. Maybe* we should have a Friday competition to see who can get the daftest advert to appear.

*Maybe not actually now that i think about it!
