Black Ops 2 Connection Issues on PS3

Ever since I bought Black Ops 2, I've been having issues with connecting online. Whenever I want to connect to the online servers, I have to turn off-and-on the router, reconnect to the Internet on the PS3 and then only sign into PSN when at the multiplayer menu. Despite the fact that this works, it's very inconvenient as resetting the router when other people are using the Internet can cause problems and, also, if I wish to switch from multiplayer to zombies (or vice-versa), I have to redo this 'ritual' or it won't work. I've noticed that the problem seems to revolve around the code at the top-right corner of the multiplayer menu. If I carry out the above procedure, the code is fairly long and I can connect, whereas if I don't, the code is short and I am not able to go online.
I'm fairly confident that the problem lies with my nat type, which is at 2 at the minute. I was hoping that if I could get Nat type 1, I'd be able to connect to the Black Ops 2 servers simply, as many of my friends do. My provider is eircom and I have the black zyxel router. I have already tried the 'broadband1' and 'eircom@eircom.net' PPPoE settings, but to no avail. My connection is wired through a TP-Link power line adapter.
I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem, and if anyone has any solutions to either fixing the Black Ops 2 server connection issues or obtaining Nat type 1 for my console. Thanks in advance! :)

as a poster above says buy another router :pac:
Those modems are notorious for sh1te wireless

I presume you connect via cable to the wireplugs?also log into modem and knock the firewall to off.( type 192.168.1.254 in your browser and there should be a menu on your left)
You should also open ports for CoD too on the modem heres a link how
    http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/ZyXEL/default.htm

just get the model number from the bottom of modem, find it the list, select then, then select CoD balck ops 2 from the list and just follow the screen shots. The screenshots will be slightly different from what you see as the modem you have is branded for eircom. Also note there is different instructions for ps3 and xbox
